Palliser Estate has been a leading winery releasing premium wines in Martinborough for over 20 years. The first vines were planted in 1984, and Alan Johnson was appointed chief winemaker in 1991. Since then, the winery has won numerous national and international awards. Following the retirement of founder Richard Ridgeford, Pip Goodwin, who had been working as assistant winemaker at Palliser Estate for 10 years, was appointed as chief executive in 2015. Today, we continue to consistently produce high quality wine.

"Estate Series" and "Pencarrow Series"

Palliser Estate releases wines in two ranges: ``Estate'' and ``Pencarrow.'' The ``Estate Series'' is made primarily from low-yield grapes from older vineyards, while the ``Pencarrow Series'' is a wine that is fruity, has a well-balanced, early-on, and approachable taste at a reasonable price. 90% of Palliser Estate's total production comes from grapes grown in its own fields.

Three sustainability aspects

Palliser Estate is working towards sustainability from three aspects. Three conditions must be sustainable: soil (natural environment), people (local community), and business (corporate responsibility). We believe that by having these three functions in a well-balanced manner, it will be possible to stably produce high-quality wine. Palliser's environmentally friendly efforts have been highly praised, including being one of the first wineries in the world to receive ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management systems, in 2004.

In 2009, we received CEMARS (Certified Emissions Management And Reduction Scheme) certification.

Aromas of stone fruit and citrus fruit are framed by flint-like lees, reductive complexity, and nuttiness from the oak. Medium-bodied, with just the right amount of concentration, the nutty flavor from oak barrels and rounded creaminess linger for a long time. Over 80% is barrel fermented using natural yeast.
