Historic plantation owner of Monterey County
Ryder Estate is an in-house brand created by Scheid Vineyards, which owns 2,000 hectares of vineyards in Monterey County. The Scheid Family has been growing grapes in Monterey County since 1972, supplying more than 30 wineries in Napa, Sonoma and the Central Coast. Founder Alfred Scheid used to work at an investment bank that provided loans for agricultural land, but one of the wineries he invested in recommended him to start a vineyard management business, and he leveraged his abundant financial resources to start managing multiple wineries. Latest technology viticulture program
In recent years, Scheid Vineyards has been using GPS to create data on the topography and soil by type, and is planting the appropriate varieties in each region. We also installed the latest web cameras in each block of the field, and introduced a system that allows us to monitor tree growth, grape sugar content, and soil water retention in real time. In the past, the quality of grape cultivation in Monterey County was largely influenced by weather and yield, but in recent years, it has become possible to consistently grow high-quality grapes based on accurate data analysis, and the quality of wine has improved. It has improved significantly. Each wine is a pure expression of varietal character, with Monterey's trademark acidity and clear fruit. By the way, Rider is the name of Alfred Scheid's grandson.
Aromas of grapefruit, guava, tropical fruits and a hint of grass. Low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks creates a harmonious balance of fresh acidity and plump fruit flavors. A clean and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc that takes advantage of the cool Monterey County climate.
