A winery run by the Latrous family, pioneers of Entre-de-Mers.
Château Haut Rio is a chateau in Entre de Mer, located about 30 km from Bordeaux. It has a history of 70 years and is currently one of four chateaus run by the Latrous family, winemakers who have been making wine for three generations. Ruttles owns a large-scale brewing facility and is one of the top family-run wineries in the region. While working on environmental conservation, we create stable, high-quality wines based on our philosophy of always keeping an eye on new things.
At Lutrous, we carefully craft our wines using both traditional winemaking methods and the latest technology. When they opened a new brewery in 1968, they were the first to install equipment with temperature control, and in 1980 they added equipment for maceration of rosé and white, as well as a huge harvesting machine. Since then, we have continued to invest in tanks, presses, barrel cellars, environmental conservation equipment, management software, and other areas in an effort to comprehensively create the best products.
Vignoble Latrousse
Founded in 1948, it has been run by the Ruttles family for three generations. Over the past 70 years, the farm has expanded from 41ha to 130ha (including 30ha at Chateau Haut Rio). Average tree age is 25-30 years. We practice environmentally friendly farming methods on loamy, siliceous, and clay-limestone soils with many south-facing slopes. They are the first in the region to focus on energy regeneration, such as installing solar panels on all buildings and introducing wastewater treatment systems, and always have a vision for the future.
An elegant and well-balanced white with a pleasant citrus flavor, lively fruit flavor, and just the right amount of body.
