Montepulciano is located in southern Tuscany, near Umbria. The word "nobile" (noble) was added to wine because it was praised many times in the past and was treated as noble. Antico Colle owns 25 hectares in the heart of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano production area, and has poured unstinting passion into grape-growing over three generations. The Frangiosa family originally made tobacco production, but in the 1960s they began growing grapes, and in 2003 they released their own wine brand, Antico Colle. We produce high-quality wines with excellent cost performance based on the concept of expressing the terroir, which is a gift of nature, and pure fruit flavor.

The Antico Colle winery is located on the east side of downtown Montepulciano, but the vineyards are scattered throughout the D.C.C.G area. The soil here is composed of clay, tuff and sand layers suitable for viticulture. Also, since it is located at an altitude of 300 to 400 meters, it has good ventilation and diseases are kept to a minimum. Prugnolo Gentile, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo, and Chardonnay are cultivated on a total area of ​​25 hectares. Prugnolo Gentile is a clone of Sangiovese Grosso, a unique grape that has evolved naturally on the Montepulciano terroir. It has a characteristic aroma and taste reminiscent of plums, resulting in a gentle and elegant taste.
