Château Pesquier, now a leader in Ventoux, is a beautiful chateau with a modern and ideal cellar located in the village of Mormoiron at the foot of the Ventoux Mountains. Due to our favorable geographical conditions and extensive facilities, we strive to produce wines with a smooth and elegant taste using typical grape varieties of the Rhône region. The owner is Paul Chaudiere, a former physical therapist. Since 2003, the two sons have taken over the domaine, with older brother Frederic in charge of the commercial department and younger brother Alex in charge of winemaking, working hard to develop Pesquier.

The domaine owns 100ha of fields on the southern slopes of Mount Ventoux (60ha of which are biologic certified). The exceptional amount of sunlight and the mistral blowing from the north help grow healthy grapes. The average altitude is 300-400m, and it is one of the coolest climats in the Southern Rhône, with a large difference in temperature between day and night. The soil is mostly limestone, but there are also various types of clay and sand, making the geology especially around Mormoiron village extremely diverse. Cultivated in Rut Raisonné for 20 years. Since 2003, we have gradually switched to biologic, and since 2015 we have been experimenting with biodynamics. The average age of the trees is 40 years. Some of the oldest ones are nearly 100 years old.

During brewing, we use a long fermentation process to bring out the color and aroma, and use a light filter to create a wine with a rich flavor. In addition, believing in the aging potential of Ventoux, we finish our top cuvées by aging them in barrels for a longer period of time. The splendor of Pesquier's wines can be seen from the fact that all of them have received high praise from experts, but when you actually taste them, you will be surprised by their high quality. In particular, it is highly regarded by Robert Parker as a super estate in Ventoux (a wonderful producer), and the domaine's wines always receive high scores from Wine Advocate.
