Valle Delacate Il Moro [2018] 750ml, red

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and the largest region in Italy. It is a beautiful island located at the southernmost tip of Italy, surrounded by the sea. Valle Dellacate is a winery established in 1981 in the Bidini district of Ragusa, in the southeastern part of Sicily, which is mostly covered in mountains and hills.

The field is 100ha. With the desire to pass on the tradition of winemaking to the next generation, two historic family-run winemakers collaborated to start the winery. The current owner is Gaetana Iaccono, the 6th generation of the family. She is a member of the Italian Women Winemakers Association, and is a charming woman whose love for wine and this region overflows in every word she speaks.

Cultivated varieties include Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Syrah, Inzoria, and Chardonnay. We create wine by exploring the potential of the region's terroir and unique grape varieties. Its reputation is rapidly increasing not only in its hometown of Sicily but also in Italy. This is a winery that you can't take your eyes off, with great expectations for the future.

Sicilian red wine is attractive for its aromatic aroma and richness. The traditional variety Nero d'Avola produces a powerful type.

The current 6th generation owner, Gaetana, is passionate about Frappato, a variety unique to the region of Valle dell'Acate. It has been Gaetana's father's wish to revive this Frappato, which has a lively fruit flavor. In 1995, we consulted Enologo and created a 100% flappert. Other producers have since followed suit. For white wine, we grow Inzolia, Chardonnay, etc.

Poggio Bidini is a popular item in Valle Dellacate. A higher-grade daily wine made from young grapes that emphasizes fruit flavor. It is made with special care for unique varieties. From 2007, this brand name has been changed to Case Ibidini.

Cerasuolo di Vittoria

A well-balanced red made from two varieties. The powerful Nero d'Avola (60%) is matured in barrels for 12 months, while the delicate and fruity Frappato (40%) is aged in stainless steel tanks. A fruity red with a firm body. Promoted to DOCG from 2005 vintage!!

Il Moro IGT

100% Nero d'Avola, only stainless steel tanks are used. A red that emphasizes fruit flavors. The deep color and concentrated taste are attractive!

Bidis IGT

The grapes grown here are Inzolia and Chardonnay, which are indigenous to Sicily. Bidis is a blend of these two types. The Chardonnay is aged in new barrels, and the Inzolia is aged in stainless steel tanks, giving it a mellow, well-balanced taste.
