Domaine (Paul) Zinck Domaine Zinck
The strongest combination of a father with traditional craftsmanship and a son who incorporates modern brewing and equipment.
Zink is a producer located in Eguisheim, Alsace, founded in 1964. Currently, his father Paul and his son Philippe run the domaine. Eguisheim, where it is located, has clay limestone soil and is a very favorable environment for grape cultivation. Only AOC wines are produced, with 80% being white dry cepage wine, 10% sparkling wine, and the rest being red, rosé, and sweet dessert wine. Annual production is approximately 150,000 bottles, and currently 70% is exported overseas.
Aiming for further quality improvement — from Rutt Raisonné to Bio-Dinami
Zinc is stubbornly striving to "emphasize quality" in all wine-making processes. In order to bring out the potential of particularly delicate and noble grapes such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer, the domaine is currently converting its vineyards to biodynamic vineyards with the aim of receiving certification from a certification body within five years.
Commitment to wine making
- Grape cultivation in Rutte Raisonné
- The vines are replanted every 40 years (the fields are cultivated to a depth of 80 cm)
- The yield is kept low, and everything is harvested by hand at the right time.
- 90% brewed and aged in stainless steel tanks (temperature controlled to prevent too much sugar production)
We aim to produce wines with a refined taste, rich in minerals, with a perfect balance between rich fruit and acidity.
