Château d'Archambeau, located in the village of Illa in the Graves district, near the village of Barsac, is a winery that has been owned by the Dubourdieu family for several generations. Since 1975, Jean-Philippe Dubourdieu has been the head of the family, and he uses his own winemaking know-how to create wonderful wines. Professor Denis Dubourdieu, who is said to be a “revolutionary in Bordeaux white wine production,” is his cousin. Jean-Philippe has been practicing pesticide-free cultivation since the mid-1990s.

The winery's vineyards are located on the Archambault Hill at an altitude of 55 meters in the Graves district. The small peak and the continuous field that spreads out on the south-southwest facing slope are the strength and charm of the winery. The undulating hills provide microclima that protects the vines from spring frosts, while natural drainage ensures healthy, concentrated fruit even during autumn rains. The soil is gravelly, which is said to be the best in the Graves, and clayey soil is exposed in the middle of the slope, and then limestone appears. For more than 10 years, Jean-Philippe has been trying to restore life to his fields using the cultivation methods practiced by his predecessors. The soft soil makes you feel like you're sinking in when you step into it. The fields, which are full of life, are only tilled throughout the year, and for the past 10 years, we have been practicing cultivation that respects tradition and the environment without using any herbicides. Now we only use natural compost made from grape pomace.

Currently, Château d'Archambeau's wine is mainly sold by the winery itself. Sales have increased significantly over the past few years, and it is often drunk at hotels and restaurants both domestically and internationally. This is a red wine with a rich and firm bouquet that makes it easy to drink, and a white wine that is partially fermented in barrels and aged in sur-lie, with a rich flavor and pure fruit. d'Archambeau's delicious wines are very popular in France and have won numerous awards at numerous competitions.
