It is said that the British, who occupied this region in the 13th and 14th centuries, were overjoyed when they discovered the dark and robust Cahors wine, at a time when Bordeaux wine was the mainstream, with a pale color that quickly turned sour. Afterwards, Cahors was discriminated against because he rebelled against the British King Edward III, and was faced with a long period of misfortune. Although the production of high-quality wine has never ceased until modern times, it has lagged behind Bordeaux wine in the world. However, in the 20th century, thanks to the hard work of grape growers, they began to achieve great results, such as growing high-quality Auxerrois grapes. Obtained AOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) in 1971. The wine produced is masculine and elegant with a lot of tannins, and is suitable for long-term aging.

Chateau Lagresette is a historic castle built in the 15th century in the Cahors region. The fields of Lagresette have soil suitable for wine making, and wine has been made since the time the castle was built. In 1980, Alain Domique Perrin, then chairman of the Cartier Group, purchased the castle and restored it to perfection. Its beauty is recognized as a national treasure. We have also added a magnificent, three-story wine cellar to the basement of the Chateau de La Gresette. Mr. Perrin welcomes France's most famous wine maker, Michel Rolland, and produces wonderful wines every year that are highly acclaimed around the world.
