A winery founded in 1824 in Castelldaccia, Palermo, Sicily. It all began when the Duke of Salapaluta, who was prosperous in Sicily at the time, began making wine from grapes grown on his property in order to entertain guests such as ambassadors and counts visiting from all over the world. Prince Enrico, the third generation head of the winemaking business, studied winemaking techniques in Bordeaux, France, and after returning to Japan, he dramatically improved the quality of Corvo wine by installing the latest equipment and inviting experts from France. Ta. Prince Enrico was also the first to introduce marketing, which was unusual at the time, by putting uniform labels on wine.

During the era of Prince Enrico's daughter Topazia, the company's financial resources expanded as management of the company was entrusted to the state of Sicily. By installing fully automatic machines on the bottling line, production reached 9,500,000 bottles in the early 1980s. As of 1985, approximately 40% of its total production was already exported to countries such as the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, and from the 1990s onwards, they began to focus even more on overseas markets. In recent years, we have purchased three new vineyards: Suor Marchesa in central Sicily, Vayacindi in eastern Sicily, and Risignolo in southern Sicily, and are focusing on making wine that suits the soil. It is also widely known as the maker of the "Corvo" series of Sicilian wines that appear in movies and books.

Duca di Salapaluta line — a symbol of the brewing style

We have purchased three of our own vineyards from some of the most well-known areas in Sicily and launched a project to produce wine that is connected to the land of Sicily, and have produced a number of wines. Some of these wines include the first 100% Nero d'Avola Duca Enrico, which is now a symbol of Duca di Salapaluta. The wines produced by the company always express in innovative ways the region and the long tradition of Sicilian winemaking. It seems as if it expresses a unique and elegant life that only that person can enjoy.

Corvo Line — Dare to embrace classic style

Corvo Rhein is the story of a long time ago, when a crow that came to the vineyard was making loud cries every day and the people were in trouble. A monk who could talk to animals asked him to be quiet, and a crow came out. Duca di Salapaluta is a brand that is very dear to the company, as it was born from a Sicilian myth that says that if you don't forget and cherish the name of Duca, he will never disturb you again. It expresses the characteristics of each indigenous variety to the fullest, and also expresses the individuality and comfort of Sicilian wine in terms of cost performance, and is often drunk as a daily wine.

A wine named after the mansion of founder Prince Giuseppe, “Bianca di Valguarnera” (White House of Valguarnera). It is fermented and aged in barriques (Otaru). This is an elegant wine with a noble atmosphere, complex and deep aromas of dried fruits and nuts, and a firm body.
