Antinori is Italy's top winery. Its origins lie in Chianti Classico. The company now owns more than 10 wineries across Italy, but its home base is Tuscany. There are two wineries in Chianti Classico, including the super Tuscans "Tignanero" and "Soraia". One of them is this Pepoli.

Pepoli takes full advantage of Antinori's knowledge and experience in winemaking in Chianti, expressingthe smooth taste and modern style that everyone loves.

Pepoli, located about 5km north of Tenuta Tignanero, is a newly purchased winery in the Chianti Classico region, commemorating the 600th anniversary of the start of grape cultivation by the Antinori family. The first vintage was in 1985 when the winery was purchased, and the first release was in 1988, so although it may seem like a relatively young winery, Pepoli has a much longer history as a winery, dating back to the medieval times. There are records that there was a monastery that cultivated grapes. Grapes grown in a terroir blessed with mineral-rich soil and ideal microclimate produce vibrant, mellow fruit.

As a representative winery, Antinori owns three estates in Chianti Classico: Tenuta Tignanero, which produces the flagship wine, Pepoli in Chianti Classico, and Badia a Passignano in Chianti Classico Reserva. .

Pepoli, located about 5km north of Tenuta Tignanero, is a newly purchased winery in the Chianti Classico region, commemorating the 600th anniversary of the start of grape cultivation by the Antinori family.

Pepoli Chianti Classico's assemblage is mainly Sangiovese, blended with Merlot and Syrah. In order to maintain the high quality of each grape, each variety is fermented separately. Sangiovese is fermented with skin contact for 10 days in stainless steel tanks to bring out its richness, while Merlot and Syrah are fermented slowly with natural yeast to bring out deeper, smoother tannins and juicier fruit flavors. I'm letting you do it.

For aging, barrels are used with a particular focus on the ratio of 90% Slovenian oak and 10% American oak. Slovenian oak gives wine a fruity finish and soft tannins. And American oak gives wine a gorgeous aroma and richness.

The resulting Pepoli Chianti Classico is a very modern and well-balanced wine. The gorgeous, characteristic aromas of violets and sour cherries fill the mouth, and gradually transform into a sweet scent of ripe dried fruits. It has a rich scent, but a gentle medium body. This is a charming, easy-drinking bottle that you can enjoy casually.
