Yermann is a maker who has elevated the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region to the point where it has been described as ``Italy's premier white wine production region'' and ``the holy land of modern Italian white wine.'' Friuli-Venezia Giulia borders Austria to the north and Slovenia to the east. Among them, the region of Gorizia near the Slovenian border has been famous as a white wine production area since the time when it belonged to Austria, and it still produces a lot of high quality white wine. Hjermann has a 150 ha field in the village of Villanova in Gorizia, where he is based.

The Hjermann family immigrated from Austria in 1881 and immediately began making wine here. The person who led Hellerman's wine to rave reviews all over the world is Silvio Hellerman, the current 4th generation owner. In the late 1960s, when Mr. Silvio was studying at the University of Brewing in Conegliano, "heavy wines with high alcohol content" were the norm. Mr. Silvio was opposed to this, and his dream was to create wine that had a rich aroma, expressed a strong personality with a more modern flavor, and captivated the people who drank it. Based on this belief, he honed his knowledge and skills by studying under the guidance of Mario Schioppetto, a well-known winemaker from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and began using internationally popular international varieties. We also actively worked on this. Through their efforts, they succeeded in raising Yelman's wine, which had previously only been sold to local residents, to a world-class level.

Hjermann has a modern image, as exemplified by "Wah Dreams," which was made using an international variety called Chardonnay and barrique aging, an innovative method at the time. When you taste it, you can clearly see that the winemaking process is not only modern, but also emphasizes traditional methods and indigenous varieties. In addition, you can feel Mr. Silvio's attachment to the land and respect for his ancestors in each wine. It can be said that the biggest appeal of Yelman is its style, which combines traditional manufacturing methods with Silvio's outstanding sense and innovation. The clear, sophisticated, elegant, and modern taste, without being too overpowering in aroma or flavor, is truly food-friendly and goes well with any kind of cuisine.
