Torres was the first in Spain to systematically introduce grape cultivation suited to the terroir, which is said to be the right variety for the right place, and actively cultivated international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon. The company owns 1,700 ha of fields in Catalonia, as well as in Ribera del Duero and Priorat. Trees planted at a density of 4,500–5,000 trees per ha. For environmental protection, we use pheromone capsules and do not use pesticides. The white grape varieties and single-vineyard red grape varieties are hand-harvested. The company has two breweries in Catalonia, one each in Ribera del Duero and Rioja. Depending on the character of the wine, we use the best methods for each wine, such as traditional Otaru fermentation and aging in Otaru, or the use of Europe's most modern equipment to create a clean taste.

In recent years, with an eye on global warming, we have invested funds equivalent to approximately 1% of our sales in research and development, such as acquiring vineyards in the highlands of the Catalunya Mountains at an altitude of over 1,000 meters and conducting wine-making experiments. Environmentally friendly winemaking with an eye on the future

Torres is also known as a winery that is passionate about environmental protection activities in order to make sustainable wine. Winemaking uses alternative energy sources such as biomass and solar and wind power generation. In addition to promoting the hybridization of transportation trucks and business vehicles, the winery also uses seaweed to absorb CO2 generated during fermentation and reuse the seaweed as biomass. Miguel Torres is the chairman of the ``Climate Change Winery Group,'' which is comprised of approximately 150 wineries in Spain, and is highly praised for his pioneering efforts in addressing environmental issues in the wine world.
