The Grassa family began making Armagnac in 1912 in the Bas-Armagnac district of Gascony. Since 1980, second-generation owner Yves Grassa has been making still wine, planting the first Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc trees in the area in 1987. Although some people slandered Yves at the time, he continued to challenge himself to make white wine and was named Wine Maker of the Year in England in the same year. With this achievement, the wines of Gascony, which had previously been virtually unknown, became known all over the world.

Currently, it is one of the largest family-run wineries in France, owning 1,100 hectares of vineyards. The current owners are brothers Armin and Remy, who are the third generation. We also carry out thorough quality control. The winery is entirely computer-controlled, and the grapes are numbered in each section and individually managed until bottling. He is truly a pioneer maker of Côtes de Gascogne.

All grapes are grown exclusively in our own fields, and when harvesting, we fill a tank with carbon dioxide to prevent the grapes from oxidizing, transport the tank to the field, and then put the harvested grapes in there. This is a special tank designed by Yves Grassa in the 90's. It was a rare item that did not exist at the time and was built for Grassa, and I currently own 8 of them. This special tank is now being adopted by New World producers.

For bottling, we adopted the almost vacuum bottling technology used for juices. The wine is bottled in time for shipment so that you can enjoy the same freshness whenever you drink it.

It combines strength and finesse. Some of the wine is fermented and aged in barrels. The delicate aroma reveals floral characteristics and fresh butter. The palate is fresh, rich and powerful, with notes of toasted oak and vanilla that complement the roundness and rich aroma of the Chardonnay. You can enjoy it deliciously for 2-3 years.
